Dr. Alan Hallman
Dr.
Alan Hallman did his undergraduate work at the University of Wyoming.
He received his Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree from Kansas State
University in 1985. Dr. Hallman opened Star Valley Veterinary Clinic in
May 1985. He has two children, Rand and Sage, and resides in Star Valley.
Dr. Hallman has been a consulting veterinarian for the Payson Humane Society, the Payson Rodeo, the Payson Zoo, the Payson Natural Resources Committee, and the Arizona Game and Fish Department. He donates his time working on wildlife projects throughout Arizona and other states. Sled dog medicine is a passion, and has been vetting sled dog races in Alaska and Canada since 1994, including the Yukon Quest 1000 Mile sled dog race and the Copper Basin 300 sled dog race. He served as the Yukon Quest Head Veterinarian in 1996 and 1997.
Dr. Hallman's personal interests include spending time with his children, hiking, travel, photography, and volunteer work.
Dr. Timothy A. Patterson, DVM, CVA, VCP
Dr
Patterson received a bachelor's degree in Animal Science from Purdue University,
where he went on to get his Doctor of Veterinary Medicine in 1987. Upon
graduation, Dr. Patterson went to work on the east coast. He owned and
operated Newport Animal Hospital, where he treated small animals and exotics.
In 2000, he received his Advanced Avian Certificate.
Dr. Patterson received his training certification in acupuncture with IVAS (International Veterinary Acupuncture Society) in 2000. In 2001, he trained to become a Veterinary Chiropractitioner. Dr. Patterson is currently on the Board of Directors of both the International and the American Acupuncture Groups. He is a teaching assistant in the IVAS Basic Acupuncture course, and has lectured at their Congress. He is currently working towards a Masters in Oriental Medicine through Beijing University.
Dr. Patterson's personal interests are horseback riding, photography, fishing, and spending time with his son, Quinlan.
Dr. Jim McDonald
Dr
Jim McDonald is a third generation native of Arizona. He received his
under graduate in chemistry and microbiology at NAU in 1978. He subsequently
attended Veterinary School at Colorado State University and received his
Doctor of Veterinary Medicine in 1984.
Dr. McDonald owned and operated his own hospital, Anasazi Animal Clinic, in Camp Verde until January 2006. He is currently working part time at Star Valley Veterinary Clinic with Dr. Hallman.
Dr McDonald has been active in Organized Veterinary Medicine, serving on several committees. In 2002, he served as President of the Arizona Veterinary Medical Association.
Dr. McDonald and his wife, Jana, continue to live in Camp Verde where they have raised three daughters Megan, Morgan, and Madison.
